This Debrief Strategy outlines:
- The approach for advising applicants who have been successful in applying for funding to deliver services under the Community Based Mental Health Program Phase 2; and
- The approach for advising and debriefing those who have not been successful in the Phase 2 selection process.
Overview of the Selection Process
The application period commenced on Saturday 16 June 2007 and closed at 5pm AEST on Friday 20 July 2007. Applications were assessed by designated, trained assessment teams. A probity plan was developed to ensure that the process was fair and open and that all applicants were treated fairly and consistently at every stage of the selection process. The probity advisor provided a report at the conclusion of assessments confirming that an appropriate framework was established and followed, that it was a fair, equitable and defensible process, and that there had been rigorous competition.
Successful Applicants
Organisations whose applications are approved for funding have been contacted to advise of the outcomes of the selection process. A formal letter of offer will follow.
Unsuccessful Applicants
Organisations who have not been selected to deliver services under the Mental Health Community Based Program will be advised in writing by the Department of the outcome of the selection process.
The letter will offer organisations an opportunity of a formal debrief. This formal debrief will be in writing. Information provided in the formal debrief will be based on the assessment of the application. Organisations can choose whether or not they wish to have the formal debrief.
Applicants may request a formal debrief by emailing
Mental Health (mentalhealth@facsia.gov.au). The timing of the debrief will be at the discretion of the Department.
