Mataranka Area Land Claim  

1988 

This traditional land claim entails some thirteen local descent groups comprised of members of three language groups (Mangarrayi, Ngalakan and Yangman) to five areas of land stretching from Mataranka, on the Stuart Highway, south to Warloch Ponds, and east following the southern bank of the Roper River for a distance in the order of 137 km.
