Fixing Houses for Better Health (FHBH) is a targeted program of small-scale repair and maintenance projects.
Safety and health facilities are surveyed and fixed in remote Indigenous community houses, with a view to improving the living environment for Indigenous people by improving the basic functionality of their houses.
Data collected as part of FHBH projects are used to inform the National Indigenous Housing Guide.
The Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs has provided funding of $10 million to continue the program for a further two years to June 2011.
