Aboriginals Benefit Account (ABA) - Funding for initiatives of benefit to Aboriginal people living in the Northern Territory
If you are planning a project or initiative which benefits Aboriginal people living in the Northern Territory, you may be able to apply for money from the Aboriginals Benefit Account (ABA) to implement it.
ABA money can be used to support initiatives that promote:
- economic development
- small business
- land and sea management
- community enhancement
- education and leadership.
Who can apply for this funding?
Only organisations established under a Commonwealth, State or Territory law can apply for ABA funding. These organisations include incorporated associations, cooperatives and companies.
When can you apply for funding?
These grants are available throughout the year and you can apply at anytime.
How to apply for funding
To apply for funding, you need to complete an ABA Grant application form. There are two application forms:

ABA funding must be approved by the Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. The ABA Advisory Committee advises the Minister in relation to payments of ABA grants.
