The National Quality Framework Vision
To maximise the outcomes and life opportunities for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness through a national quality framework that delivers ongoing improvement and better integration of services delivered by specialist homelessness and allied and mainstream organisations.
In Australia around 105,000 people are homeless on any given night. Many others are at risk of becoming homeless.
Homelessness is everyone's responsibility.
All Australian governments are working with people experiencing homelessness and the organisations that deliver services to them to develop a National Quality Framework.
The purpose of the framework is to improve the quality and integration of services delivered to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
We are seeking your views and ideas on the proposed options for a National Quality Framework. This will include discussions on developing a National Homelessness Charter, National Standards for service providers and how organisations can be supported to achieve these standards across the sector.
Public workshops are being held in all states and territories between February and April 2011 (see schedule on back of page).
Individuals and organisations with an interest in the National Quality Framework are encouraged to attend. Registration may be made via email to homelessness.quality@fahcsia.gov.au
There will also be separate discussions with people who are experiencing homelessness. Call 1800 300 125 if you would like to know more about this. Written submissions and an online survey will also be available for those unable to attend the workshops. Please visit our website for further information.
