The Australian Government is seeking applications for funding to deliver Indigenous Parenting Support Services (IPSS) for sites in Penrith NSW, Elizabeth South/Elizabeth Grove, Port Augusta and Port Lincoln SA.
Service models
Indigenous Parenting Support Services (IPSS) are provided by skilled family support and early childhood workers. The parent-child services target families with children aged up to twelve years old with a particular focus on children under the age of two. They reflect a broad concept of parenting / caring that includes extended families and kinship ties. Where possible and practicable they are located in existing Indigenous services and comprise of Indigenous workers. IPSS are integrated into existing services with established infrastructure, systems and good working relationships with Indigenous families with young children. These include child care centres, schools, Aboriginal Health Centres and other related services to provide Indigenous families with access to enhanced parenting support.

Applications open at 9.00am, AEST 13 March 2010 and close 2 pm, AEST 13 April 2010.
