Self-assessment worksheets for Disability Employment Services

How can we assess our current performance against the quality requirements of each Standard?

The following self-assessment worksheets will help you assess your organisation's current performance against the Disability Services Standards requirements. You should use the questions as a tool for discussion about quality assurance and continuous improvement at all levels of the organisation, and for documenting evidence and identifying areas where you lack clear evidence about your performance.

You may wish to print this worksheet and distribute it among staff, management and participants. You may also use the form electronically, and add in as many pieces of evidence as you can for each question. This task could be shared out with individuals or work groups. If several people or groups complete self-assessments, the results can be summarised into an overall self-assessment to give a picture of where your organisation is now and allow you to prioritise areas for improvement.

Another good way to use this tool on a continuous basis could be to concentrate on one Standard per month during the year. This could be less onerous if used as an ongoing self improvement method.

To assess current performance and progress in implementing improvements over the past 12 months, you may like to use a compliance/non-compliance rating scale consistent with audit assessments:

Alternatively, you can simply state whether or not you think you are compliant, and specify any corrective action that is required.
