Dear Disability Employment/Targeted Support Service Provider
I am pleased to provide you with this Quality Strategy Toolkit. It is the result of months of work by many people, and includes tools such as step-by-step guides, worksheets, case studies, examples and suggestions to help you apply the Quality Strategy in your organisation.
The Quality Strategy requires Australian Government funded organisations to be certified against the 12 Disability Services Standards as outlined in the Disability Services Act 1986 (Cth).
Agencies funded under the Act must recognise the differing needs of individuals and deliver high quality services to them. The Quality Strategy also requires continuous improvement.
The purpose of the toolkit is to help you with this by providing examples and assessment processes you may wish to apply or adapt, or that may otherwise inspire your service delivery.
You can use, adapt and copy the material in this toolkit however you like, except for situations where copyright has been identified.
Please remember that implementing the tools in this kit does not automatically result in compliance with the Disability Services Standards or your certification. The tools are designed to help you build on your existing systems and bring them together cohesively.
To make it easy to use, the toolkit is broken down into self-contained sections relevant to the different service types. So, for example, if there is one Standard you find particularly challenging, you can go straight to that Standard - you don't have to read through the whole toolkit.
The toolkit is also designed to evolve over time, and additional tools and discussion points will be provided as they are developed.
There are many to thank for their involvement in the production of this toolkit. I appreciate your advice and feedback.
I hope this toolkit is of assistance to you in delivering high quality services to people with disability.
Sincerely
Christine Bruce
