Home » Quality Strategy Toolkit
The chance at a real job is something all Australians deserve. Being in work is more than just having employment: it's a key to engagement in community life, and a boost to self esteem and satisfaction.
People with disability are no exception. They have significant employment opportunities, and need excellent, individualised service delivery and appropriate support to find and keep work.
Australia's range of employment services for people with disability is something to be proud of. The Quality Strategy for Disability Employment Services is an integral part of the disability employment system, and nowhere else in the world has such a comprehensive and independent focus on high quality service delivery standards.
Every year, more and more people with disability are finding and keeping jobs, both in supported and open labour market environments. I believe this can not only broaden their horizons, it can benefit us all - by creating a more inclusive and understanding society.
This Toolkit replaces the previous publications, the Quality Assurance Handbook and the Continuous Improvement Handbook and reminds us we must not be complacent. While we recognise the achievement and maintenance of certification, and the number of people with disability assisted to find and maintain work, it is just as important to keep pace with changes in the disability, service delivery and labour market environments.
I hope this Toolkit provides practical assistance for individuals and services, both new and established, to the sector.
We should be able to look back at this time of prosperity and know that people with disability had the same access as other Australians to the great opportunities of our age.
