Disability Employment Assistance Funding Agreement

The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs provides funding under the Disability Services Act 1986 (Cth) to Australian Disability Enterprises to provide supported employment assistance to people with disability

In the 2011-12 Budget, the Australian Government announced an increase total funding available to Australian Disability Enterprises from $204.5 million in 2010-11 to $210.9 million in the 2011-12 financial year.

Following this announcement, a 12 month extension to the current funding agreement was offered to existing providers from 1 July 2011 until 30 June 2012.

Providers should be aware of the following amendments to the 2011-2012 Funding Agreement extension:

  • the Case Based Funding price has been increased by 2%;
  • the DMI Reassessment pause will continue for a further 12 months;
  • organisations will receive a share of $1.5 million based on a formula which includes outlet capacity; and
  • supported employees’ eligibility for employment assistance now includes a residency requirement (for all new employees from 1 July 2011).

The Terms and Conditions contained in the 2007-2010 DEA Funding Agreements will continue to operate under the 12 month extension. The following documents comprise the Disability Employment Assistance (DEA) Funding Agreement for 2007-2010 (extended 2011-2012):
