Funding under the Initiative
Applications for the 2011-2012 National Disability Conference Initiative have now closed.
An allocation of funds is provided each year to support national disability conferences held within Australia. These funds are administered through the Disability and Carers Programs Branch.
The funding has previously been provided to eligible conference organisers to enable them to support the inclusion of people with disability at disability-focused conferences. These funds are provided to conference organisers to:
- assist people with disability (including a family member or carer(s) to support them) with costs such as conference registration, accommodation and travel, and
- assist people with disability (including a family member or carer(s) to support them) with costs, for example, funding Auslan interpreters and hearing loops for people who are deaf or hearing impaired; and/or provide material in alternate formats, and/or note-takers.
