Equal Place in Society

The Australian Government is committed to ensuring all women- from urban communities and communities in regional and rural and remote Australia, have an equal place, equal voice and equal value in society, by:

• Engaging with Women's Organisations
  Through the Australian Government, the OfW funds six National Women's Alliances. The Alliances advocate on behalf of women from across Australia and engage with Government to ensure good policy outcomes for women.

• International Women’s Day (IWD)
  Information and resources about International Women's Day in Australia and internationally.

• AppointWomen
  AppointWomen is a register that gives women an opportunity to be considered for appointment to a variety of Australian Government boards and other decision making bodies.

• Increasing Leadership and Representation Opportunities
  The Australian Government is committed to increasing the number of women in leadership and decision making roles.
