The Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Amendment Act 2006 included the requirement for an independent review of the operation of Part IV of the Land Rights Act as soon as practicable after the fifth anniversary of the amendments coming into operation. Minister Macklin has requested the Aboriginal Land Commissioner, the Hon Justice John Mansfield AM, conduct the review and provide a report by 31 December 2012. Extension for Final Submissions: Minister Macklin has agreed to an extension for the completion of the independent review of the operation of Part IV of the Land Rights Act. The Aboriginal Land Commissioner has requested that all interested parties provide final submissions by 15 February 2013. The Minister has asked that the Review Report be provided by 29 March 2013.
