This report outlines the findings of the Family Homelessness Prevention Pilot (FHPP). The FHPP operated in eight sites across Australia over a two-year period, from July 2002 to June 2004. The FHPP operated on a partnership model, with both Centrelink and community providers funded to work collaboratively to intervene early to reduce the risk of family homelessness.
In the 2004 Budget, $10.4 million in new funding was committed over 4 years for the Household Organisational Management Expenses (HOME) Advice Program. This program allows the former FHPP services to continue supporting families.
