Potential tenants

Tenants interested in registering to rent a home built under this Scheme, should contact a tenancy manager in their state or territory directly to register their interest. The Australian Government does not select tenants or maintain a waiting list for homes supported by NRAS. This is done by the tenancy manager of the particular property. The allocation of NRAS dwellings to tenants is assessed by, and at the discretion of, the tenancy management organisation. As long as NRAS eligibility requirements are met, decisions will be made in line with their usual policies and processes.

In Queensland all applicants are required to be registered on the Department of Communities’ Housing Register.

If you are not on the Housing Register you can either download the application form from www.communities.qld.gov.au/housing/housing-and-homelessness-services
or call the department’s Contact Centre on 1300 880 882 and have an application form sent out to you. The department will list you on the Housing Register if you meet eligibility criteria and contact you when NRAS properties become available for rent.

If you are listed on the department’s Housing Register for social housing and wish to apply for NRAS properties please call the department’s contact centre on 1300 880 882 to register your interest.
