Northern Territory Alcohol and Other Drugs Tribunal measure of income management

The Northern Territory Alcohol and Other Drugs Tribunal measure builds on the positive outcomes achieved through the current income management measures in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Queensland.

Income management is an additional tool offered to the Northern Territory Alcohol and Other Drugs Tribunal to assist people struggling with alcohol and/or substance misuse.

The purpose of the measure is to reduce the proportion of income support payments available for expenditure on alcohol. The Northern Territory Alcohol and Other Drugs Tribunal will be able to refer people to Centrelink for income management where it will assist with alcohol or drug related problems.
