From 1 July 2011, the Australian Government launched the new Family Support Program with funding of $1.044 billion over three years for Families and Children's Services and Family Law Services to provide more support to vulnerable families and reduce red tape for service providers. The Family Support Program provides services across Australia to support families, improve children’s wellbeing and safety, and build more resilient communities. As part of the reforms to the Family Support Program the Government is giving service providers more certainty with contracts being renewed for three years (1 July 2011- 30 June 2014). The funding amount shown above is subject to change to allow for indexation and new budget measures.
