The Supported Accommodation Innovation Fund (SAIF) has been established to build innovative, community-based supported accommodation places for people with disability. This is in addition to the Commonwealth Government’s existing investments in supported accommodation. $60 million has been committed over three years for this initiative.
The SAIF funding round opens on Monday 5 September 2011 and will close on 20 January 2012. Community organisations will have the opportunity to directly apply for capital funding from the Commonwealth Government to build innovative supported accommodation for people with disability. Organisations must be able to demonstrate need and that they have secured funding to meet ongoing support costs required to sustain the supported accommodation.
