Disability Services Audit Personnel Certification Scheme

In 2006 a Disability Services Audit Personnel Certification Scheme was introduced to replace the 'Open Both Eyes' auditor training. The scheme is independent, operated by RABQSA International, and is hoped to be accredited by JAS-ANZ. Certification is available for both auditors and Consumer Technical Experts. Grades for certification include:

  • DS Consumer Technical Expert
  • DS Auditor
  • Lead DS Auditor.

The deadline of 30 June 2008 for implementation of the Disability Services Audit Personnel Certification Scheme has now passed and all personnel working in the field in Disability Employment Services Quality Assurance (DESQA) must now be certified.

New personnel entering DESQA after 30 June 2008:

  • Must have successfully completed the PAAS Master Examination and the relevant knowledge competency examination/s prior to doing any work in the field.
  • Will have six months from the time they complete the PAAS Master examination and the relevant knowledge competency examination/s, to complete the relevant skill examination for their grade. In the six months, onsite work/training for all grades shall be conducted under the supervision of a DESQA Lead Auditor. Where the individual is training to be a Consumer Technical Expert (CTE) a skilled DESQA CTE shall provide additional supervision in the particular skill areas for that grade.
