The Community Investment Program aims to strengthen communities and promote social inclusion and participation of vulnerable and disadvantaged people in community life. The Program supports not-for-profit organisations to develop solutions and deliver responsive and integrated services that meet local community needs.
The Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, the Hon Jenny Macklin MP, and the Parliamentary Secretary for Community Services, the Hon Julie Collins MP, announced funding of more than $16 million over three years for around 60 community projects throughout Australia. The following projects listed by State/Territory will be offered funding:
- Australian Capital Territory
- New South Wales
- Northern Territory
- Queensland
- South Australia
- Tasmania
- Victoria
- Western Australia
