FaHCSIA helps support communities through a number of programs and services. Further support is provided through grants and funding for organisations providing services for communities.

Responsibility for the implementation of the National Compact has transferred to the Office for the Not-for-Profit Sector in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Further information is available on the National Compact website.

Advice and assistance for disaster recovery is now the responsibility of the Attorney-General’s Department. FaHCSIA will continue to contribute to the whole of Commonwealth recovery response through our mainstream programs and membership on the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Committee, now chaired by AGD.
