Australia has signed new social security agreements with:
Greece
The Social Security Agreement between Australia and the Hellenic Republic was signed on 23 May 2007.The Agreement will commence on 1 October 2008.

Korea
On 6 December 2006 the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon Alexander Downer MP, and the Korean Minister for Foreign Affairs, Song, Min-soon, signed a Social Security Agreement between Australia and Korea.We anticipate that this Agreement will come into force on 1 October 2008.

Germany
On 9 February 2007 the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon Alexander Downer MP, and the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Franz-Walter Steinmeier, signed a Supplementary Agreement on Social Security between Australia and the Republic of Germany.We anticipate that this Agreement will come into force on 1 October 2008.

Japan
On 27 February 2007 The Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, the Hon Mal Brough MP, and the Japanese Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Hideaki Ueda, signed the Social Security Agreement between Australia and Japan.We anticipate that this Agreement will come into force on 1 January 2009.
