3.1.11 Working Credit

Introduction

Working credit encourages workforce age income support recipients to take up full-time, substantial part-time or irregular casual work by allowing them to keep more of their income support payments while working. It allows recipients to build up a working credit balance at times when they have little or no income, which they can use to reduce the amount of later earnings that are counted under the income test.
