New Dad and Partner Pay
Dad and Partner Pay will be a dedicated payment for fathers and other partners under the Australian Government's national Paid Parental Leave scheme.
Dad and Partner Pay will provide eligible working fathers and partners sharing care of a child born or adopted on or after 1 January 2013 with up to two weeks pay at the rate of the National Minimum Wage (currently $589.40 a week before tax).
The Government is undertaking a consultation process to finalise the details of Dad and Partner Pay. The Australian Government has released a Consultation Factsheet and Policy Statement to provide more detail on the implementation arrangements for Dad and Partner Pay. The Australian Government invites your comments on Dad and Partner Pay by 17 October 2011.
