If you are not currently employed in the APS and are selected for employment with the Department, you will be subject to the following conditions of engagement:
Australian Citizenship - you should be an Australian citizen.
Redundancy Benefit - if you have received a voluntary redundancy benefit from an APS agency or non APS Commonwealth employer, your exclusion period must have expired before you can commence duty.
Probation - a probationary period of three months applies on engagement.
Identity, Character and Security checks - successful candidates will be required to produce confirmation of their identity and consent to a police check.
Code of Conduct - successful candidates are required to familiarise themselves with and abide by the APS Code of Conduct and Values.
Qualifications - if you list any formal qualifications on your application, you must be able to provide original copies.
Health Check - you will be asked to complete an Employment Health Declaration form prior to engagement. This form will be used to identify any potential workplace assessments which may be required.
