  7. Giving children the best possible start in life has been a key component of the ‘Communities for Children’ strategy launched in Armadale, WA—April 2005.
  8. As part of the Local Answers Initiative, $21.5 million of funding was announced in June 2005 at the Migrant Resource Centre, Blacktown, NSW, to assist refugees integrate into Australian society. Local community members met with Minister Patterson at the announcement of funding.
