The review reflects research that has been conducted over the last decade and includes studies, reports, commissions, census data and program documentation from within the areas of human services, criminology, child welfare, Indigenous perspectives and youth affairs. The research focus is primarily on Australian literature supplemented by relevant literature from the United Kingdom and United States.
