Approved money management courses have been introduced in areas where income management operates throughout the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
Courses support participants to develop an understanding of how to manage their money, plan for the future, and find out what services are available to them.
Approved money management courses are open to everyone, however priority of access will be given to people on compulsory income management.
Completion of an approved money management course is one of the eligibility criteria for the Matched savings scheme (income management) payment
Approved money management courses are currently delivered by money management services. They can also be delivered by some Commonwealth Financial Counselling services and Emergency Relief services and may also be delivered by some non-FaHCSIA funded organisations.
