United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)

Australia appeared before the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women on 20 July 2010, New York.

Concluding observations were issued on 20 August 2010.

The Office for Women supports fulfillment of Australia's obligations under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) by working with agencies across Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments, and regularly reporting to the United Nations on Australia's progress.

Australia lodged its most recent report, Australia's combined sixth and seventh report on the implementation of CEDAW, on 16 December 2008.  An Australian delegation with representation from across government appeared before the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women on 20 July 2010.  Australia's next periodic report will be due in July 2014.
