On 27 July 2009 former Minister for the Status of Women, the Hon Tanya Plibersek MP, announced $1.24 million in grants to national women’s non-government organisations. These grants reflect the Australian Government’s commitment to developing and supporting women’s leadership and advocacy.
The projects commenced in July 2009 and are expected to be completed within 12 months. These grants of up to $100,000 each will support women’s organisations to work with diverse groups of women in the community and assist them to engage in current policy debates.
