The
Statement of Intent was released in partnership with the former Parliamentary Secretary for Disabilities and Children’s Services, Bill Shorten and representatives from Australian businesses, unions, disability employment services, industry representatives and people with disability to improve opportunities for people with disability as employees and customers.
It is estimated that 1 in 5 Australians have a disability. Through employment of people with disability, businesses can benefit from the skills, experiences and perspectives of people with disability and boost productivity, whilst giving back to the community.
