Women’s groups and organisations involved in agriculture, fisheries and forestry at the local, regional or national level, and incorporated under Commonwealth or state legislation, are now eligible to apply for the Australian Government’s Recognising women farmers initiative, run by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
The initiative offers support for projects that will build the leadership and representative capacity of women in primary industries, helping them face challenges and take advantage of opportunities resulting from a changing climate.
Under the WLC grants round, the government will provide funding of up to $50,000 for eligible events and will seek either a cash and/or in-kind contribution from successful applicants.
Applications close 5pm Monday, 16 February 2009.
