This report presents the findings of the study that was conducted between October 1997 and March 1998. This paper brings together academic research, factual information and the views and opinions of Indigenous Australians touched by homelessness. The project aimed to identify the effectiveness of existing support services and accommodation options, examine alternative pathways to avoid future homelessness, and to link people to accommodation supports as needed. The project's aim is to prevent Indigenous young people from becoming homeless by developing and providing appropriate information and education including cultural field activities, basic living skills, support in accessing services, and cultural links.
